Hrithik Roshan Actress Bollyood

Hrithik Roshan is a brand unto himself: an enticing combination of star quality, a boy next door appeal, and a complete gentleman. He skyrocketed to fame with Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. His twinkling green eyes, winsome smile, and a lean, chiseled body found a huge fan following.

The Complete Man
Hrithik Roshan, fondly known as Duggu by his near and dear ones, was born into a filmi family on 10 January 1974. His mother is Pinky Roshan, the daughter of producer and director J.Om Prakash while his father is Rakesh Roshan, who was an actor before turning into a director, besides being the son of music director Roshan. He is the nephew of music director Rajesh Roshan. He also has a sister Sunaina.

Hrithik studied at the Bombay Scottish School, Churchgate and has a degree in commerce from Sydenham College.

Soon after his successful debut in Bollywood, he tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Suzanne Khan, daughter of actor Sanjay Khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. They have two sons, Hrehaan and Hridhan.

Trouble
He had his bad moments after stepping into the spotlight. His father was shot by the underworld when he refused to give the foreign rights of Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. It was followed by rumours that the actor had made remarks against Nepalese which resulted in outrage against the actor in Nepal. However the actor denied it.

In 2009, he was linked with the Mexican actress, Barbara Mori, with who he shared a kiss in Kites. There were rumours that Suzanne walked out of the house. However, the couple and their families denied any trouble in the marriage.

A Star Is Born….
Hrithik is known to be a perfectionist and has worked hard to be where he is today. He prepares himself thoroughly for every role he portrays, has trained in dance and acting besides working on his diction and his appearance. He started working out under Salman Khan’s guidance, when he worked as an assistant director on the sets of Karan Arjun and Koyla.

He got a taste of Bollywood as a child, when he appeared in the film Aasha (1980), Aapke Deewane (1980), and Bhagwan Dada (1986). But it was the year 2000 that made people sit up and take note.

2000 Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, a love story directed by his father, in which he starred opposite newcomer Amisha Patel was an exceptional success, winning eight Filmfare awards among countless others, two of which landed with Hrithik for Best Debut and Best Actor. This was followed by Fiza with Karishma Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan, in which his portrayal of the terrorist Amaan was appreciated. He played a similar role in Mission Kashmir with Preity Zinta.

2001 Yaadein with Jackie Shroff and Kareena Kapoor wasn’t a big success while Karan Johar’s family drama, the star studded Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham was an instant hit.

2002 The year saw a string of flops like Aap Mujhe Acche Lage, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge, making people question about whether it was downhill from here.

2003 Hrithik removed all doubts with the science-fiction film Koi Mil Gaya with Preity Zinta, in which he played the role of a mentally abnormal Rohit who befriends an alien called Jadoo. He bagged the Filmfare Best Actor Award as well as the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance.

2004 Farhan Akhtar’s Lakshya did moderately well, while Hrithik’s role earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Best Actor Award.

2006 He returned back as Rohit alias Krrish in Krrish, the sequel to Koi Mil Gaya, this time with Priyanka Chopra. The movie was a hit and a top earner. This was followed by the action oriented Dhoom 2, the sequel to Dhoom. He played the baddie Mr A and won another Filmfare Best Actor Award.

2008 In Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, set in the sixteenth century, Hrithik Roshan took over as the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The film did well overseas while in India the response swung both ways.

2009 Fans saw the star mostly promoting his movie Kites at the Cannes Film Festival and in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck by Chance, in which he played the role of superstar Zaffar Khan.

…And Continues to Rise
2010 Anurag Basu’s Kites, shot extensively in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New Mexico, will see Hrithik as a salsa instructor in a tragic love story. The movie stars Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut. His other release is Guzaarish with Aishwarya Rai. He plays a paraplegic in this movie and Rai will be seen as his nurse. He might be a part of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Seven Husbands with Priyanka Chopra.

(2000): "I am glad I have the intelligence to understand what is happening to me. If I allow myself to get affected by all this hype, I'll stunt my growth as an actor and be damned for life. I know that I still have a long way to go before I can even aspire to equal the achievements of any of the superstars. I know I am good at my job, and I am sure I will be damn good one day but right now, I also know how bad I can be."

(December 2002): "After two years of being in films I've realized that I don't need to do movies just for the sake of it. Now I will not do a film unless the role is to die for. It may sound preposterous but I'd also like to do something like 'Spiderman' or 'A Beautiful Mind'. Only such cinema stimulates me. I don't want to do the routine stuff."

(August 2004): I am a complete 'foodie'. It's in the genes. I can't stop eating! It's only that I fear of the world finding out that I have a bad body which makes me strive to have my diet in place and exercise right.
(February 2006): I'm just a student who is still learning, so I can't give discourses on acting.
(February 2006): My big dream is to take our cinema to a world platform. The idea of acting in a Jackie Chan film doesn't excite me. That's betrayal.
(July 2006): One mistake we always make is to ape the West. We attempt films that we think they will like. The true crossover films are 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' and 'Life Is Beautiful' where the director goes entirely by his conviction, culture, community and conditioning. I am hoping, not just for me and my father and family, but for Indian cinema that Krrish (2006) will succeed, so we can envision an even bigger extravaganza. We want to afford that freedom to take our cinema higher. I believe we are very close now to getting noticed on a world platform.
I was always the pet of my teachers in school probably because I was considered to be very cute. Because of my innocent looks I usually got away with a lot of mischief. I was spoilt and pampered by everyone. All I had to do was sport a lost-boy look and I would have things my way. At home too, if I wasn't given something I wanted, I would simply sit with a long face till I got it.
On his first villain role in Dhoom 2 (2006): "I've played the good guy long enough. Now it's time for me to get seriously evil. I always wanted to play a cool villain. And since the bad guy in Dhoom 2 is multi-dimensional, playing this nightmarish guy is a dream come true."
(December 2006): If someone pretends not to recognize me, then he needs to get a life.
On his infamous kiss with Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2 (2006): "I did give it a lot of thought. There was enough reason and inspiration here to go ahead. I tried to make it as beautiful as possible. And I stand by it completely." (April 2007)
I have met quite a few quadriplegic patients and their families (while researching his role for Guzaarish). There is a lot of pain and suffering that they go through. The extent of that we can never really understand. But what is amazing is that, though they have all these problems in their lives, never is there one moment when they are not smiling. And that is a lesson that I think is a gift that I received from them, and a gift that I think you all will receive from this movie.

They say that many people come in your life, but some leave a footprint on your heart after which your life is never the same again. For me it is not a person, it is a movie. Guzaarish has changed the way I see the world. It has given a whole new perspective to my life.
